UNITS Honored to Participate in Arizona StandDown

Arizona StandDown Aids the Veterans of the Valley

This past weekend the Arizona Veterans StandDown Coalition held their annual StandDown event at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. StandDown is an event dedicated to the aid of Arizona’s homeless veterans. Volunteers came together to provide as many services as possible for the veterans all under one roof. Participants left with new clothes, shoes, and packs that had been donated. Areas for haircuts, dental exams, and even acupuncture were set up, and over two hundred cots were made available for those who chose to spend the night.

UNITS Mobile Storage was proud to be involved by providing storage for much of the donated goods. The event may be best described by one of the volunteers as “this is a hand up, not a hand out”. Our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to the volunteers and veterans across Arizona and our nation. To learn more about Arizona StandDown, click here.

Saturday with Interlink & Friends

This past Saturday, UNITS mobile storage had the pleasure of being involved in Interlink Supply’s grand opening of their Mesa, AZ location. We were pleased to see the great turn out. Customers and other vendors showed up with their family and friends to see what others were doing locally in similar and related industries. For the kids there was; a bounce house, face painting, and bikes for riding. Check out the pictures below from the event and click on any of them to go to that companies’ website.

Seasonal Storage

Say Goodbye to that Winter Mess!

Some things should be out for winter... some things just shouldn't be out at all.

There’s no denying that winter is officially upon us. It’s cold out, the holidays are here, and there is likely an influx of stuff lying around your house. Everything has been pulled out; the tree, the decorations, the lights, the ski-coat you use once a year, the extra dishes for the in-laws, the ugly holiday sweaters, the fruitcake baking pan, etc. It can begin to seem that everywhere you look, you find something else that you had stashed away for winter. By the time everything you need is pulled out you’re almost too exhausted to do anything with it.

So this year, as winter starts to wind down, do yourself a favor and consolidate your seasonal items. Instead of stuffing all of that stuff in the attic and every tiny storage nook around the house, put the ladder away and get a mobile storage container. The storage unit can be delivered to your house and you can load it as fast or as slow as you please (but you’ll be surprised how much faster the whole process will go when your putting everything into one place). When your done, your portable storage unit is picked up and out of your hair, along with all those seasonal things you don’t need to see for another nine months or so. Then next year simply have the container delivered back to the house, and breathe easy knowing everything you need is right there.  And don’t worry, if you need a santa hat for that Christmas in July party simply swing by the warehouse where your unit is stored and grab whatever you need.

If you have any questions feel free to give Paul Cardosi a call, he is the owner of UNITS Mobile Storage of Phoenix and would love to help you out. Happy Holidays!

Use UNITS to keep your golf cart safe, secure, and out of the elements at the site of your choice

Small Vehicle Storage

Another day, and another way to use portable storage. Whether it’s golf carts, atvs, motorcycles, or bikes, your investment should be protected. If you’re keeping a small vehicle on site at your home or business, you should have the piece of mind that it is safe from theft or damage. Garage space is always tight and in many cases you don’t want your vehicle tracking dirt and dust into indoor space. A mobile storage container allows you to add a storage bay in any place you choose. All you have to do is order your unit and ramp and simply decide where to put it, then drive whatever you may have right in the container, lock it up and go.

Moving Through The Housing Market Slump

Busting The Slump!

With the housing market in a continual state of decline and reports still surfacing about a worsening outlook, people are finding that it’s a better investment to simply rent rather than buy. Statistics show that nationwide, annual rental rates cost an average of only three percent of purchase price of the standard home while mortgage rates cost double that, six percent.

In essence, this means it costs twice as much to borrow the money as it does to borrow the house. Renting a house can be just as rewarding as buying, and especially in a turbulent market, it can make more much more economic sense.

When potential renters walk into a home, they begin to envision how all of their belongings can be positioned in the space. They start to draw up the imaginary floor plans and layouts within the walls of their mind, just like first-time buyers – Where will the couch go? Can I fit all of my bedroom furniture in here? But one of the most overlooked steps in the renting process is an obvious one, the move itself.

Renters forget that one of the most crucial steps to any relocation decision is the actual physical act of moving. They think about lease rates and neighborhood regulations, but the act of taking all of their belongings from one place to another is often an afterthought – and it shouldn’t be.

There are several options: hire movers, do-it-yourself, or use a portable storage unit.

The do-it-yourself route requires several trips and usually the help of some strong-armed friends. It often has to be done in one day, which can cause for some careless errors, sore backs and scratched up tabletops and dresser drawers. Moving companies are a fine option, but they get paid by the hour and can be expensive, so again, time is of the essence. Portable storage, on the other hand, is an option that provides some flexibility on both the front and back ends of a move – allowing you to pack and unpack at your own pace. Portable units also make a move possible without an army of help at your disposal, as the transport is done safely, all in one trip.

Renters are borrowing space, but they still have the opportunity to hang their own things on the wall and make the new residence their own. Figuring out how to do this is not a process often done in a day, and so the opportunity to unpack and set up your things in a neat, safe, more relaxed manner can be a huge bonus.

The Portable Storage Advantage for Renters:

  • Renters  save time and energy because the units are delivered directly at your convenience
  • Storage containers protect belongings from the elements, so packing and unpacking can go at your own pace
  • The use of innovative pick-up and delivery systems allow for easier moving, eliminating the risk of damaged property

If the time has come to find a new place to live and you are looking to rent, don’t forget about the move. Remember that local portable storage units are an effective and efficient that can make the process easier and much more efficient. Finding a new residence doesn’t have to be an overwhelming experience – all you need is a UNIT, a plan and a good lease rate and you’re well on your way to a beautiful new place to call home.
